The concert series was the brainchild of the late folk singer Bryan Dagenhart, who wished to provide additional revenue for the Maple Street Chapel Preservation Society (MapleStreetChapel.org). He was its first Folk Concert Producer and emcee. After a few seasons Bryan turned those duties over to WDCB radio host George Brown, who successfully served the series for many years. It was George who began the practice of including nationally known acts; he expanded the variety and increased the number of annual concerts as well. On George's passing in 2007 those duties were taken up by folk music enthusiast Paul Zimmerman, the series current producer. Paul has been a regular volunteer for many years at our sister venue, the Two Way Street Coffee House (TwoWayStreet.org) in Downers Grove, Illinois.
Thank you to the artists, the volunteers, our sponsors, our audience, and to everyone else who helped make our prior seasons successful.
